The Development and Quality Unit, represented by the Community Service Unit in the Department of Chemistry, organized a workshop entitled 'Organic Food and its Benefits' on Sunday, 13/3/1444 AH.
Among the most important objectives of the workshop are the following:
1- The trainee should recognize the importance of organic food.
2- Organic food is often fresh because it does not contain preservatives that make it last longer.
3. Organic farming tends to be better for the environment.
4- Antibiotics, growth hormones or by-products are not given to animals that are organically raised. Information on how to grow organic food with compost was presented. Next, foods of importance to human health were discussed. Finally, it was highlighted how to recognize organic food.
