The Arabic Department at the College of Arts and Science in Wadi Adwaser held the Sixteenth Scientific Meeting on November 19, 2016 as one of the scientific meetings that the Department has been organizing according to the guidance and instructions given by his excellency Dr. Safer Bakheet, Dean of the College. This meeting was attended by the Vice Dean of the college Dr. Faisal Alowsairy. The title of the meeting was “Applying the Prophetic Approach in Studying Poetry” with reference to “Älpurdah” as a model. Dr. Wajeeh Matter, Associate Professor of Criticism in the department, was the main presenter. The meeting was administered by Dr. Salam Alomary, Associate Professor of Literature in the department. The discussion was very fruitful and emphasized the importance of holding scientific meetings that discuss the association between the modern critical theory with the Arab critical heritage for the sake of previewing the contributions of our eminent scientists in this field. The meeting was also attended by staff members of the department who exchanged different views that eventually serves literature and criticism in particular and the Arabic Language in general.
