    • What are the instructions that the student must adhere to in the exams?

      # Be present in the test room at least 10 minutes before the start of the test

      In the event that the student misses any exam, he must submit the excuses that prevented him from attending the exam to the Academic Advising Unit within a week of the date of the examination. To be presented to the Student Cases Committee at the Deanship
    • What is the mechanism of attendance and absence and the consequent penalties?

      The Deanship of the Preparatory Year aims to instill the principles of commitment and discipline in the hearts of students, and therefore the student must adhere to the lectures ’dates according to the academic schedule, and the student bears the responsibility of not attending according to the following:
      # Attendance and absence are recorded in all courses from the first day of the beginning of the study until the end of the semester.
      # The student must be present in the classroom at least five minutes before the start of the lecture date, and if the student is late for the lecture, he will be absent.
      # The student is responsible for knowing the percentage of his absence in all courses.
      # The student is prohibited from entering the final exam of the course if the percentage of his absence exceeds (25%) of the actual hours specified for each course during the semester, and the student is assigned to the grade field, he is deprived (h), and he studies the course in the following semester.
      # Excuses are not taken as a reason to lift the deprivation of the student. Because excuses are included in the percentage of absence allowed by the system, which is (25%).

    • How do I calculate my semester GPA and GPA?

      Semester average:
      The result of dividing the total points obtained by the student divided by the total number of units prescribed for all the courses he studied in any semester. Points are calculated by multiplying the prescribed unit by the weight of the grade obtained in each course the student studied.
      Points = number of units earned ˣ value corresponding to grade
      Semester GPA = Total Points ÷ Total Units of Study
      GPA:
      The student’s GPA in the preparatory year is included in his average after joining one of the targeted colleges
      The sum of the total points obtained by the student in all the courses he has studied since joining the university divided by the total units determined for those courses.

    • What is the minimum score for passing the course?

      The registration process for the student’s schedule is done automatically by the Deanship of Admission and Registration, according to the study plan for the preparatory year program
    • Is it permissible for a student to postpone studying, make additions and deletions to courses, or transfer between the tracks of the preparatory year program?

      It is not permissible to postpone studying, make additions and deletions to courses, or transfer between the tracks of the preparatory year program, and the academic schedule for the student is fixed - unchanged - throughout his study period in the preparatory year. It is the responsibility of the student to make sure that there are no errors in his academic schedule, such as: conflict in lecture times, registration of a course that did not succeed in studying the previous requirement for him, or registration of a course he had previously succeeded in, and in the event of errors in the schedule, he must review the Student Affairs Unit Deanship during the period specified for that, according to the university calendar of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
    • What is the preparatory year system?
