As per the directives of the Rector, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed, the College of Arts and Sciences (the female wing) celebrated the eighty-sixth anniversary of the kingdom’s National Day under the slogan of “A Homeland Vision.”
All in green, the College has witnessed a massive presence of students as well as a variety of activities and programs that began with a recitation of the holy Qur'an and the Saudi national anthem.
In her speech on this happy occasion, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty spoke about the glorious past of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its unification by the late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in 1351, and the peace, security and stability it is enjoying since its unification, praise be to Allah. She also spoke about the kingdom’s paradigm shift during the past period and its evidences, which made the Kingdom occupy a prominent place in the Arab world and globally thanks to Allah’s grace and the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect him. Then, she spoke about the Kingdom's insightful Vision 2030 which focuses on all the aspects of life in this beloved country, mainly the attention to education from a qualitative perspective and the development of the economy without relying on oil as the country's unique main resource.
The ceremony included a visual presentation on the achievements of the Kingdom and on the tremendous efforts provided to serve the two Holy Mosques and to develop the regions and the provinces in the Kingdom as well as a presentation on the Vision 2030, in both Arabic and English. Besides, a report on the educational boom in Saudi Arabia and its progress level was presented. The organizers of the ceremony did not forget our dearest brave soldiers stationed in the southern border of the country and their great role in the service of their religion, leaders, sanctities, and homeland.
It is worth mentioning that the supervisor of Student Work in the College, Noura Mohamed Majed, and the coordinator of Student Activities, Balqis Ahmed Abdullah, have provided enormous efforts to make the ceremony so successful. The ceremony ended with the national anthem.
