About the unit:
The unit seeks to implement all community service activities inside/outside the college.
Vision:
To be distinguished in providing integrated services to develop the skills of faculty members, lecturers, teaching assistants CASW students, and the technical administrative staff. Besides that, the unit's vision is to be a pioneer in the administrative and academic development of the college.
Mission:
To develop the skills of faculty members, lecturers, teaching assistants, students and the administrative/technical staff, to ensure the highest levels of progress, excellence and creativity among them. Also, the unit's mission is to implement development policies, plans, programs, and services set by the University’s Development Deanship to improve the college and achieve its sustainable development and continuous improvement in the administrative and academic fields.
Objectives:
The unit aims to:
- Raise awareness of continuous development among the college's employees.
- Work on developing the academic accreditation and evaluation.
- Contribute to identifying possible development areas and suggesting the necessary projects to implement them.
- Provide the necessary facilitation for all development work teams
- Document the efforts and results of the development processes and reporting them to the concerned deanship..
- Prepare periodic reports on performance levels and beneficiaries' satisfaction in each activity.
- Carry out other tasks assigned to the unit in relation to development and its implementation.
- Work within the strategies framework adopted by the university to improve the potential and skills of the faculty’s members in order to achieve excellence and creativity in education and teaching
- Determine the necessary needs to develop the skills of the college's employees
- Participate in organizing and implementing development programs required to develop the skills of the college's employees
- Evaluate and review the programs offered by the concerned deanship to the College's employees
- Motivate faculty members to get trained on modern educational skills and their applications.
- Contribute to improving faculty members' abilities to design and develop academic courses and convert them into electronic contents.
- Contribute to improving college students' skills for self-learning, increase their educational attainment, and develop their social and technical skills.
- Work to develop the level of performance of all employees of the college.
Strategies:
- Using the standards approved by the deanship in designing training programs and developing performance.
- Working on implementing the training and development programs approved by the university within the college.
- Building programs to enhance and develop creativity and excellence among the college's employees.
- Implementing the necessary procedures to motivate and encourage the attendance of the college's employees in the training programs and courses.
Methods:
The Development Unit of the college will use all available potentials offered by the deanship, and everything that will work to achieve its goals, in particular the following:
- Carrying out the tasks assigned to it by the deanship, in the field of skills development.
- Preparing publications and brief pamphlets that contribute to raise awareness of development among the faculty members, administrators, and students.
- Conducting meetings for new faculty members to familiarize them with the rules and regulations in force at the university.
- Close cooperation with the college administration and its affiliated units.
- Cooperating closely with the college's administration and its units.
- Continuing to participate in training programs, workshops, seminars, lectures, and panel discussions, held by the Deanship of Development in professional and academic fields
- Conducting seminars and workshops for college students to support their achievement and provide them with life skills that enable them to engage in different fields
Tasks
The unit performs a variety of tasks, which include:
- Preparing and implementing scientific awards.
- Proposing programs to develop different types of skills.
- Proposing partnerships and agreements with associations, organizations, centers for professional development.
- Preparing and implementing a study to survey and determine the competencies and skills required for the job market and identify the level of shortage of students' skills.
- Proposing an incentive scheme to motivate skills development.
- Suggesting volunteer programs to develop specific skills.
- Encouraging the creative work and professional achievement of the college's employees in order to achieve academic and administrative excellence.
- Discovering new skills in students and working to develop and enhance them
- Developing curricula and programs and improve teaching methods and mechanisms in the various departments of the college.
- - implementing ISO system according to the reference standards.
- Developing information systems and technology in the college.
- Connecting the college with the local and global community, by opening various programs and specializations that feed the needs of the community in its various scientific, economic, and educational sectors.
- Identifying the needs and desires of the beneficiaries of university services (students, parents, and various sectors of the society) and working to satisfy them and meet their needs.
- Following up and implementing university performance evaluation.
- Executing and following up the evaluation and development of the teaching performance of faculty members, and assisting them to achieve professional and scientific excellence.
- Implementing and following up the activities of the Creativity and Excellence Awards in academic, research and career performance in the college.
- Supervising and following up on the use of e-learning and distance education technologies in teaching and learning at the college.
- Preparing the annual report of the college.
